Another updated pic of Peanut
« on: February 14, 2008, 12:05:01 AM »
Well Seans uncle delivered 4 huge round bales. When I say Huge I mean Huge. For free.  :jumpjoy: So after two days of having unlimited hay. Peanut is getting quite the hay belly on her.  :icon_biggrin: Her and Rosie seem to camp out at the round bale feeder. Except for peanut taking a break when I walk in the field to come and give me kisses. She is getting into the habit of licking me right up side the face every time I go in the field.  Rosie is getting closer to having her calf I think she is starting to develope more of an utter and looks a tad bit swollen. I do not know a whole lot about cows but to me it looks like she may not wait until march to calf.  :icon_eek: I am getting nervous now. First pic was the day I brought her home the second was taken around the 29 maybe of Jan. And the last one was taken tonight while being milked. I milked the back quarters and Britt finished the front. LOL!!

Yes it is Beautiful!! We were feeding them each a bale a day sometimes more. But the round bales allow them to eat none stop if they want to. And it looks like they want to.  :smily961: Rosie doesn't really need to get any wider.  :smily961: She already almost rubs the 4 foot gate way she walks through now she gets any bigger and I will have to take her though the goat field that Has a Ten foot gate.  :smily961: But this is just what Peanut needed. This hay has been barn kept and is wonderful quality. I could of just gave Seans uncle a big kiss when we tried to pay him and he said no charge.  :jumpjoy:

Awesome Deeanna...she looks great...big difference compared to when you first got her.
And blessings to Sean's uncle for the hay.....what a guy  :)

:lmao3: I can just see it now...Peanut and Rosie at the bale  munching away ...saying to each other...."Is this HEAVEN?" They never had it so good Deanna...mine stay at the hay ring also and only leave to sleep and get a drink or their feed...I know what your saying...Maggie is huge also and her bag is starting to fill also but its barely 2 wks till March so Maggies got a little ways to go. Way to go Peanut...Told you Deanna she would do fine.

:hehe: Camping out is what they are doing. LOL!! Rosie pushed me out of the way to get to it today. She ofcoarse got yelled at and told that I am not Peanut and I will push back.  :hehe: I have noticed a change in her personality the last to weeks she is still my Rosie but is really kind of crabby at times. I am hoping she is just in a bad mood because of being so big and preg. Peanut on the other hand is getting more loving. she loves to lay her head on my shoulder and get scratched.  As soon as she saw me in the yard she gave me a moo. How sweet is that.  :icon_biggrin:

:lmao3: :lmao3: :lmao3: :lmao3: That is exactly my experience with cattle, they love scratches when they are in the mood, and will walk right through you if food is on the other side.

:lmao3: Yep he was already there.  :hehe: He is only saying that because I made him stand in the field to watch Peanut follow me around and to see Rosies baby roll around in her belly. LOL!! Lets just say he was a little less than thrilled standing in the middle of cow poo and me saying watch this cow. LOL!! I am easily entertained by my animals. I make him watch the goats like that when they are doing something that makes me laugh.  :lololol:

:lmao3: Debi getting licked by a cow is like a facial.  :smily961: A very rough one. But I think it is sweet. At the barn if the cow turns around to lick you some people smack them in the face.  :smily187:
