New Champagne Filly born here!
« on: April 10, 2007, 05:51:52 PM »
We will call her Champagne Dejavu. Born friday 4-6-07.  She is a Classic Champagne filly, which is the Champagne gene on a black based horse... She is registered ICHR, and AMHR, and once weaned, will be available for sale.
But for now I am just thankful for the safe delivery, and healthy baby.

Thanks Debi...We missed her birth so Im extra thankful things went well. Hubby had turned off the TV monitor when the dam was already waxing that morning, so he could watch the basketball game.. lol
When we realized what happened, we ran out to the barn to see this wet filly already standing.  :smileywavey:

:newclap: She is gawjus!  My mini stud apparently carries the champagne gene as his half sister out of a non-dilute mare was a buckskin champagne.  Those ambers are too pretty.  A lady that traveled the same show circuit I did several years ago had a AQHA mare who was amber. She showed 1-2nd level dressage.  Her son was also an amber and when she brought them both to the shows she'd get lots of attention.  You just don't see those colors in the hunter and dressage world very often!

'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.' - Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Thanks guys, Hey Helmsted, if your boy is a true Champagne, it would be worth your while to have him registered with the ICHR.. (International Champagne Horse Registry)There are very few mini Champagnes in the US right now, and if you send pictures of close ups of him to the ICHR they will let you register him with their registry, once they verify it.

This is the site adress that you can send your photos and info to.. http://www.ichregistry.com/
