Mariah's baby (miniature horse)
« on: December 10, 2006, 10:56:04 AM »
Mariah surprised us all yesterday (12-9-06) and foaled a little silver filly before dawn broke, while she was out in the pasture, with the other minis..

She only stands 21" tall, but is sweet enough to let us pet her already.

Thanks Goat talker,  We dont have many miniature horses born around here, not like goats,lol... since it takes 11 months to cook them before their done, and I am down to two mares now.
But when they arrive its a special thing. :flower:

Don't know much about horses, but she looks very healthy and well built/proportioned! ..And those eyes - how sweet!~ And is that 21 at the withers or the head?

Wow thanks guys! :smileywavey: We got some genuine horse fans on this board..  :newclap:
This miniature filly stands 21" at the withers.. She will be registered in both the A and the R division. Her cannons are barely 6 1/2  so she will most likely finish off at around 32" or so.. I think she will grow up stunning as her dam has 6 national grand-Champion titles in just 3 generations behind her.
Every thing I breed is going to be for sale, so just keep her in mind if you are looking...
We have not yet figured out a name for her,  :icon_rolleyes: but am working on that - unless one of you clever ones can help name her.

Humm, Mariah=wind, so her baby could be Santana, as in the Santana winds, which are now called Santa Anna winds (in error.)

Yep, Goat-talker, you can consider yourself the God Mother to her.  :hippypeace:
(I'll be keeping this board updated on any significant progress Santana makes)

Goatdreaming, Daisy is darling too, so if the name Santana is taken by the registries, I be considering that one as well... :smileywavey: so thanks!
