I have not known many people to purposefully go out and purchase a rabbit. More often than not, they are given to you or show up on your door step left in their little cages, orphans of some well meaning city person.
Hence, we have recently acquired "Annie". Annie is a beautiful black/brown rabbit the color of a mink. She is a housebroken bunny who has been relegated to our barn when my niece decided to replace her with a husband and an apartment who didn't think much about cute furry rabbits.
While my kids are thrilled and I have a new outlet for left over salads, I sigh as I watch her hop around her cage longing for carpet and a litter box.
Inside however is not an option for us. Period.
So, does anyone in No. CA want an indoor rabbit? If not, she'll have to learn to love the barn and learn to use the outdoor privy and await spring where she can jump around the back yard in the chain link fence when we tie up the dogs....#sigh#.
Post Note: How long do rabbits live naturally anyway?
