You will like it! I have found out that if you are doing 1 strand of yarn to use a Afghan needle to draw down the warps and if you are doing a 2 strand like I am doing now to use some circular knitting needles. Also have a hair pick to move the warps across into place. It does get a little intimidating at first. I dont work on mine all the time as I dont want to burn out, I do a few warps then something like my socks I am knitting.

I wish I had a dvd when I got started so you have a advantage there. Try a 1 strand first till you get the hang of it and like I said before dont get the warps too close. Also a place that is great for info is  www.knittinghelp.com   I love to knit and there is alot of info there and some have looms too. I just got word that my new Ridge Heddle loom is on its way...I CANT WAIT! This in my B'day present from Randy...did I also say I love weaving? Fiber is so addictive and relaxing.

What all is on the DVD? Does it show you how to do different patterns? or just to learn the loom? I am going to try a different way next time with solid yarn and see what happens. I hope you enjoy your loom. Did your come with a easel? If not I went to the lumber store and got a long bold and 3 1 x 1 and made my own as I had chain to do the legs. Sure makes a difference that it being on the wall.
Good luck and take some pictures!

Oh, my, goodness, this thing is BIG and my house is small.
As for the DVD, I haven't watched it yet, hopefully tonight after church, if I can stay awake.
I think the DVD includes basic instructions and also information on different patterns.
It did not come with an easel, but they did sell one separately.. I did not purchase it yet, but may decide I really need it after getting started.

Dont get that easel as it only cost me less than $10 to make mine. Very easy even if it dont look professionally built but it works. Yes my room is small too and its a big loom and you will get frustrated for a few times till you get the hang of it. I bet I tried at least 8 or 9 times till I got it. I hung mine on the wall for a bit till it started bumping against the wall paper and thats when I made the easel. with a few hair bands and some wire and chains its working great...good luck and I will help if you need it...  :pics: :pics:

I watched the DVD last night and it was VERY helpful.  Kathy, do you have a picture of the easel that you made?

Here are some pictures I took with my webcam and hopefully you can see that the bolt and wingnut at the top to hold it all together. The cup hooks I bent and placed 2 towards the back of the legs and 1 facing me. I added the chains before bending to make sure they were the right length.
The hair tyes are at the top and I used 2 of the elastic type to cross the loom to hold on top. then some lightweight wire to hold the bottom of the loom. It sure stablized it to where it didnt swing around on the easel. I placed a basket to hold my yarn away from the dogs plus I didnt want it on the floor. I susupended it with some stray yarn. here are some pictures hope it helps some.

Thanks! That is a shawl in progress... it does take a little time but have stopped working on it because of the Heddle loom Randy got me early for my birthday...been working on figuring it out and its really not that hard to do. I just need a place to put it when working with it. It makes up to 32" across and as long as I want it. I got it off ebay also for $175.00 with free shipping. It comes with a project started to practice on.

Also learned a new knitting stitch I have been working with too. I think we need a Fiber section on here. IF some are willing to learn or want to learn how. I get dvd's as I have dial up and it wont load properly but with dvds its so much easier as I am the type of person I can see it and do it.

I am enjoying this new stitch too as its more airproof as its called Twined knitting I looked it up on the internet. Yep got to stay busy during the winter.

Sounds great Kathy! I have a whole folder full of crafts I want to make. Every time I see something online or in a magazine, that I think I can make, I snip it and put it in a folder. I also have one on my desktop and now I have one on my laptop full of projects. I do love crafts. After my health issues, I find it hard to do them anymore. I hope this will change. I also dearly loved to read and that has been so difficult for me as well....I really hope that too will change. The loom looks like something I would really enjoy but I am NOT going to invest in something that big (hehehehehehe) until my craft abilities come back....lol!!!!!!! I will have to live vicariously through you guys!
