Author Topic: Please Pray for Maria and Jeff (Read 531 times)

I suppose if life wasn't quite so challenging I might get bored. Many of you might remember that Maria my daughter has Alport Syndrome which effects her hearing and Kidneys. Well her kidneys are failing her and she was admited into the hospital Friday for high potasium levels. Her potasium levels have come down and her heart is fine. Monday she is have surgery to put in the shunt in so she can start dailysis at home. Pleas pray that all goes well and that she will adapt to dailysis until a donor kidney can be found.

My son Jeff got home from Qatar right after Christmas. This has been great to have him home safe and sound. The bad thing is he was sent home because he was having some mental issues. It is looking more likely that he is Bi-polar. Please lift him up in your prayers. The medication seems to be helping and his spirits are good. His wife is very supportive and I really think he's going to be fine but this will be a life long issue for him.

Please pray for Greg and I that we can be there for both our kids. Please help me to deal with all this and be patient with my MIL who lives with us and is suffering from dementia.

Prayers for Maria and Jeff as well for you & Greg.

My Grandma suffers from some kind of dementia (my Mom's Mom), my Uncle and my parent's and I were taking turns caring for her after my Grandpa passed away (almost 6 years ago, it will be 6 years in February) but she got away in the wee hours of morning on my Uncle's watch so she has had to be put into an Assisted Living and just recently was moved to the Memory Support Unit (AKA the Alzheimer's unit).

Okay Maria's home from the hospital doing as good as can be expected. Jeff's moods seem to be pretty level I'm finally thinking things are going to level out for us. NOT!!! Went to Greg's Parkinson's Dr and he feels Greg's parkinson's is progressing and it's time to consider Deep Brain Stimulation. Okay now I'm really on overload. It's nothing we have to do right now and we're going to do some praying one. We did feel he was worse but we were hoping maybe just a medication change would help. That just really wasn't what we needed to here today. However the benefits do sound good. It's a good thing God is strong because he's been doing all the heavy lifting lately because I'm certainly on overload. Thanks for your continued prayers. It's what is keeping me going.

PRAYING for you!
I know exactly what you mean about the prayers are what is keeping you going! At times when my husband was going through his stem cell transplant I felt I did not have anything left to give mentally, emotionally and physically I was just completely drained. We were away for months from our home, children and all our family and friends. We were in another state hours away from all I held dear and loved... It was such a comfort to me and gave me the extra boost of strength to go on KNOWING that I had fellow believers "Praying us through it". Like you it was what kept me going. Sometimes it is easy to just say in passing that we are or will pray for someone but KNOW that I AM PRAYING for you and your family!!!
And I truly believe...

Oh, Becky, so sorry to hear all that you are having to deal with now. Prayers are continuing for you, Greg and your family. As Mitzi said, just knowing that you are being lifted in prayer and believing that God does answer prayers, hopefully will give you peace as you go through this.

Maria spent this week at a hotel close to the dialysis clinic learning how to do it home. She hasn't been able to handle the machine do to it at night so she is doing it manaully so she has to do it four times a day. It's amazing how well she is handling it. She's not complaining just doing it. I'm really pretty proud of her. Jeff seems to be doing well I'm a little worried about him thinking he is okay and going of his meds but we'll see. So far he's been doing fine.

Greg and I go Monday to talk to his surgen about his shoulder surgery. We'll deal with that before first. However thank you all for your prayers things seem to be going alot smoother around. The Lord is certianly getting us through.
