first coop
« on: September 08, 2011, 10:44:26 PM »
After a trip to Arkansas to visit family and seeing all there chickens my wife decided she wanted her own chickens so i built her a coop. Thought i would share.
'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.' - Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Good job, that looks great!  I hope your wife enjoys her chickens as much as I enjoy mine.

Thanks everyone.

We couldn't wait for the chicks to show up so we picked up a few chickens from the 4H kids after they showed. The Polish took first place in her class, I think she's my favorite so far. She's as dumb as rocks but I love her bushy head.

Your new chickens are beautiful ... my favorite is the silkie.  Had one of those many years ago that was a big pet until a raccoon had it for breakfast.
