Religious Discussion
« on: July 04, 2010, 04:45:34 PM »
Religious Discussion-please note, this is not an attack, or designed to create dissension, it is an honest issue I am struggling with in many current churches.

Some churches preach that Jesus is God, can any of you explain to me how the SON of God can be God? The SON of God tells us he has gone to sit at the RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER, and therefore, he is in my thinking part of the trinity. "In my Fathers house are many mansions, if it were not so...." Again, Jesus tells us of the FATHER. Scripture tells us, Jesus is God's ONLY begotten son, while a son and father can be of one mind and purpose, they are still two entities.

I guess what I am asking is that those that believe Jesus is God convince me, show me scriptures that contradict what Jesus said, show me how He and the Father are one entity? I grant they are part of the entity known as the trinity, 3 distinct parts of a whole,  two individual parts subservient to God.

'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.' - Theodore Roosevelt 1907
