I am so sad...
« on: March 24, 2010, 06:16:58 PM »
Went out this morning to feed and found my Speckled Sussex rooster dead! I am so sad he was one of my favorites!  :bawling: He was such a good boy. I will miss him!!!

I was not planning on hatching any chicks this spring because I am trying to down size my flock...but now I may so I can get another SS rooster. I just loved him!  :bawling:

Not the best picture of him but here he is...

No Debi I don't know what happen he was just laying inside by the feeder dead. He was about 4 years old. Yesterday he was fine and did not show any signs of something being wrong with him.

Yes they can live to 10 or so...but unfortunately they are more likely to be killed by a predator than live that long.
