My 17 year old son has a friend that has been missing since last night....

Was on his snowmobile (apparently was having problems with it and trying to fix it), but took it for a ride over a nearby lake, and has not been seen since.

Warden service just called here to see if Jeff has seen or heard from him, but unfortunatly he has not.

This is making me sick.

Please keep Shaw (Richard) and his family in your prayers.

Should have noted that it has been snowing here for the last 3 days....And today we are getting pounded. Suppose to snow thru till tomorrow night.

NOT good conditions for anyone to be missing that long.

Father God, please help this boy.

I hope they find him safe and on a trail. The air boat will no doubt head across the lake. If he did cross it I hope it was froze hard enough. Pretty scary.

Two days ago we had a rather loud discussion with our 17 year old about staying off the lake (it's across the street).....He wanted to go ice fishing with some buddies and we were telling him the ice is not ready.

I'm praying he's found safely, but I have to admit I dont have a good feel about this. It's not in this kid's nature to be gone this long without contacting home.

The Warden Service called off the search around 7 pm....It's pitch black and with all the snow, the visibility is near zero.

We've had more than a foot of snow already today, and they're saying we will be getting 2-3 inches more PER HOUR thru the night.

Search has resumed, but overnight we got about 2 feet of snow. I just dont know how you find anyone with that kind of snowfall.....

I'm trying to hold on to hope. It would surely be a miracle.

Still no word. But at least today the weather has cleared up. I'm hoping they will be able to get the hovercraft boat back onto the lake now.

We also had another possible tragedy yesterday..... An elderly neighbor of mine was in his driveway while his plow guy was plowing. The elderly man walked behind the plow as the plow backed up, and he was run over. Dear God.....

My neighbor is in the hospital in critical condition. Massive head injury.
Could you please keep his family lifted up in prayer as well?

Thank you Sondra.... You are right. Too much tragedy for our little town.
And it all started 3 days before Christmas when another classmate of my son was found hanging........apparent suicide, or the result of the choking game....no one will ever know.

I'm not one to be superstitious, but they say this stuff happens in 3's.....

Nothing yet, Greg. They are continuing the search again today.
Yesterday they were on the lake with the hovercrafts and had a helicopter flying overhead. It's completely nerve-wracking I'll tell you. (I cannot imagine the grief his parents are enduring......)

They've covered over 4000 acres of land, and now are concentrating on the lakes and ponds nearby....but there are many.

Of course there are all kinds of rumor and speculation...but I've learned to believe none of it, until I hear official confirmation.

Today marks the fifth day of searching, still no word on Shaw.... we can only imagine.

They did find tracks on the lake that led to an open part of water, but of course they have no way of knowing if it was him.... They had scuba-divers in the lake all day today, and were scanning the lake with sonar.

My neighbor, the one run over by the plow truck, died yesterday. God rest his soul.

We keep praying and we keep waiting...... I sure do hope we get news soon. Everyone is on edge.

I agree Deb....and I've found the hardest part of parenting is protecting them from THEMSELVES! They just dont get it. Makes me crazy!

Would you believe my 17 year old asked again this morning if he could go out on the lake to go ice fishing today???????

Every news article I read continues to post warnings about the ice not being ready, and we've already lost one boy...... What more needs to be said?

If he keeps it up, I'm going to sell all of his fishing gear. That will be the end of that conversation. I've had it.

OH gosh sure hope your son doesn't go out to fish yet. They just don't seem to understand how thick that ice needs to be, before getting on it.

Such a tragic situation. Sorry to hear your neighbor died, which adds to the sadness. Praying for a miracle for the young man and he shows up.
