Colton is a 10 year old Christian boy who has been showing and wining in Pygmy goat open shows since he was 3. He has had a bowel problem for 2 years now, and the doctors have finally decided he will go into the hospital today as an emergency case. Because this condition has not been aggressively treated by the doctors for 2 years, Colton's bowels is now 2x the size it should be, and he has lost all elasticity. The plan is to put a tube down his nose and administer fluids to flush out his system, but if that doesn't work (and all of the other medications they have given him have not worked) they will operate to clear the bowel, and then install a tube (like a colostomy bag) that he will have to wear for a year. Colton is a very thin young man, and loosing most of the benefit of his intestines will undoubtedly put a strain on his body. Please pray that the treatment works, and that he does not need surgery.

Praying for him. What an awful thing to have to go through as a child. I hope the treatment works.

Colton is out of the hospital...they have held off on surgery...they removed 4lbs of stool from the little guy. The hope is, his colon will return to normal size in the next 3 months, if not, he will have to return for surgery. Thank you everyone for praying for Colton, and please remember him over the next few months.

He is back in school, but still having a hard time. This is one of those cases were if the doctors had just listened to the mother, the child would have recovered quickly. Unfortunately, they basically ignored the problem for 2 years and the child suffered, and continues to suffer. Aren't HMO's wonderful.
