I heard a song years ago
« on: November 04, 2009, 10:51:27 PM »
I heard a song years ago and I just can't remember the name of it-been looking for a while. The jist of the song was Lord I'm ready to go home, I don't need this earthly body, I'm ready to go home. Anyone know the name of the song, or the artist?

'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.' - Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Nic, I almost forgot.  I got this info to dh and he called around and here is what he found.  Hope it's the one you're looking for.

Title of the song is "Lord, I'm Ready To Go Home" recorded in 1988 on cassette tape by The Sullivan Family.

The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field.  And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.  Proverbs 27:26,27

I've never heard the song but sounds like an old, old one.  Good luck in finding it.   Wonder if you could send that to a radio station.  We did that once with a song we were trying to find and they directed us to a man in Canada that located it for us.  That was a long time ago.
