Pictures of Sugar learning her new jobs
« on: October 13, 2009, 01:38:18 AM »
Here are some pictures of Sugar, the puppy I got from Kathy yesterday.
First one is in her new home (for now).  I had to chicken wire the hog panels because she was getting out.
Second one is after I hayed the horses.  They didn't really like her, but I'm sure they will learn to.
Third one is meeting the feeder pigs.  She did not like the pigs at all.
Forth one is getting a drink after a hard puppy day.

She also met the vet today and had shots and rode around in the back of the pickup.  She was perfectly at home with the goats.  The goats weren't too sure of what to make of her.

Very, very cute. I would put her on some calcium if she was here. People calcium like OsCal works great.

Penny , my vet reccomends that dogs not drink from galvanized bowls as something leeches out and it is bad for them .
It's been awhile since I asked and I can't remember what it is .
Okay for livestock though.
Congrats . beautiful puppy

Very pretty dog. Congrats.

Nic, calcium? Is that because she is a large breed? Just wondering.

She is down in her pasterns, and calcium can help correct that problem in most dogs IF it is given when they are young like Sugar. If they wait too long, it won't help, and a dog that is down in its pasterns generally doesn't stay sound into old age. Big dogs tend to have this kind of problem more than little dogs.

Thank you.  She is a sweetie.  Yesterday I was doctoring my 6 month does and she was right there behind a couple of them when they were being led out of the pen.
