Please Pray for my Son Kyle..
« on: September 21, 2009, 03:56:44 AM »
Today at around noon Kyle had a seziure and we thought he was going to die. His lips turned blue and his eyes rolled back. He has never had this happen before and before the ambulance and rescue crews got here he had a 2nd seizure. He had 3 others that lasted for over 5 minutes and they called in Life Flight to take him to Kansas City. We got teh boys ready and went also by vehicle. My other son lives in the KC area and he got to the hospital as tehy were checking Kyle in. He is only 23 will be 24 in October.
They are not sure what caused it and what type of Brain damage there will be from this. He is right now in I.C.U and in a drug induced coma to slow down the seizures. I have never been this scared before in my life as I thought my son was going to die there in my arms, Please my Dear GoatTalk family keep him in your prayers and as I know more will let you know more.
The doctors are running all types of test on him and even did a Menengitis test which is a lumbar punture and very painful when awake Thank God he didnt feel it. Also Pray for his sons Thomas and Aiden as they stood there watching all of this. They are with their mother now as she came and got tehm at the hospital when we got there.
Love ya'll  :grouphugg:

Thank you so much. I talked with the hospital this morning and he is stabel but unresponsive to anything. He is scheduled for a EEG this morning and hopefully we will know more after that.  They still have him in the coma and lessened the meds to see if teh seizures have stopped but they started again. We still dont know what caused this to start. When we get another report I will let you all know. I love you guys as you are all my extended family. There are prayers comming from all around lifting him up . I just hope I can make it thru this. Rnady is being so strong but I know its klilling him also.
Its teh not knowing thats the hardest. I  :luguys:

:hug2_202: Thank you all so much...I talked again with the nurse and they said when they try to take him off the meds he gets very combative and then starts seizing again. So they cant do the EEG with him this way so the Neurololigst is going to do a MRI tomorrow. Hopefully we will know more after that. They are puzzled also and dont want to cause him more harm so that is why the MRI. We are going in Tuesday morning and I WILL TALK to the DOCTOR myself and find out some many unanswered questions.. SOme the nurse will answer and some they wont...its making me upset. I will be talking to a doctor 1 way or the other as you know me and I wont leave till they say something.
My DIL is in the medical field and she is puzzled as to why they havent figured it out yet and what is causing these Very strong seizures, I tThank everyone for the Prayers and support.
Just as I was telling my sister that lives in Texas tonite that he has the WHolE USA praying for him as I told he that there are true friends on here from every state. We are a family here and we love and care about everyone. Thank you again and will post more as I find out more.  :grouphugg:

:whoohoo: Well I have the best new I can tell all....They decided to try again to wake him up after his MRI and he had me and his daddy there to talk to him as he was waking up and they got the tube out of his throat and off the breathing machine.
He did all his verbal commands and was even trying to talk but it was a whisper. It was so WONDERFUL to hear that whisper...he wanted to see his boys...I ran to get Thomas as he was out in the waiting room.  Talk about some Happy Tears...they were flowing.
So far so good. They still cant tell us why this happened or what maybe of caused it. They say sometimes this just happens and he will be on anti-seizure meds from now on. He does have some short term memory loss from the meds that they had to use on him but they say this will pass. He wont be able to drive for 6 mths and only if the meds work.
He is very sore and that is normal is what they tell us. Still didnt get to see any doctors till I threw a fit and called my regular doctor and the S*** hit the fan as they still hadnt notified them of this. Well it wasnt long till we got more information. A doctor came in and said basically they still dont know what caused it and the MRI was basically clear and no problems with the MRI.   All I can say is GOd was tehre and Kyle said he could feel all the prayers  for him.
I love you all and thanks so much and will keep everyone updated till he gets to come home...  :grouphugg:

:whoohoo: He is doing well...still not remembering much but doing really good. He was moved out of Intensive Care yesterday. He is trying to eat and having a bit of problems doing that. Kinda like a young child feeding themselves but is trying hard to grasp it. I talked to him today on the phone and he dont remember me or Thomas being there, but does remember his dad being there last nite.
There is some damage but they said he can relearn what to do. Thank goodness it wasnt massive damage. He is talking but really slow and so far no more seizures. He cant be left alsone for some time but I think we can handle that, He really cant remember anything before it all happened either. They said its just the brains way of protecting him from all the trama he endured. They also said he has Post Tramatic Stress Disorder and may get frustrated with himself but to be patient with him and talk him thru it. I dont care what I will have to do I have my son and that is all that matters....Thank you to all that have been Praying form him and even as he continues to improve. I thank All of you for helping me and my family thru all of this.
He cant leave the hospital right now as he has a infection they say from the ventalator and is on meds to clear all of it up and possibly he can come home next week. We will see. I dont want them to rush him, He is walking some and his balance is lots better too.
He talked to Thomas on the phone this morning and he sure sounds better the throat is getting better too. He isnt whispering now.
Thank You Lord!!! He will continue to improve...I have FAITH!!!and he is very stubborn....I wonder where he gets it...
