License to sell Chickens

I have applied to get my state License to sell chickens at Auction Barns.  Does anyone else do this?  I can sale all the baby chicks I want, but grown chickens have to be tested at the site where they are cooped.   Anyway I do not coop up my chickens, I let them roam.  Besides chickens, I have guineas, ducks, and quail.

That sounds good. I didn't know you had to have a license. I just bought 6 ameraucanas yesterday from a lady and she has her flock tested and all that and had a nice packet to send home with me about their health information. That was very professional and I appreciated how she did business.

I just went and looked at the papers that that lady gave me and she is inspected by the state of texas and has a flock number. Is this what you you will have? Oh you have beautiful birds by the way!

Yes, the State of Texas License--this is new to me too.   I have a sister that owns an auction barn, they sell horses and she told me that I need to get a license to sell grown chickens in public places.  Someone will come in to check my flock in the next few day.  The license is good for a year.

Before we send our chickens in to 4h we have to have them blood tested for dieases. We also have to have proof of where there parents were raised and if they had dieases. It is a real pain but i guss keeps flocks healty. And at the auction barn we go to their has to be a vet on spot to check all animals for dieases.
