All dressed up and nowhere to go.  How cute!  Is that her new Easter outfit?

 :lmao3: :hehe:
I told my husband how I was making these for the hens last night and he says, "Oh, now the chickens will all look stupid?"  :lmao3:
He calmed down after I told him they are not that noticeable and the reason WHY I was doing this.
I can make these in just 5 minutes, I could get carried away and make one for every occasion.... hmmm......

I made another tonight. I'm perfecting the design right now. I bought some different material today for my straps to keep their little bodies safe from any rubbing.
Next, I think I may embroider the initial of the name of the bird on the back. :hehe: Never hurts to add cute features,....LOL
I have these machines here and plenty of material, I might as well use this stuff for something.  :hehe:
I'll have to make you one Debi when I get the design perfect; do you need one?

 No, not too clever, I just like to make things, especially when it's for an animal. :hehe:
Well MR. Rooster decided that since I have saddles on the pretty ones, he would go after the other 2 hens. Looks like I have 2 more to make.
I will make one up for you Debi after I get these 2 done, I will have the design the way I want after these next 2. These are fitting the large foul hens,...will that fit yours? What color is the hen?

Well that is a good idea, how did you "attach" it to the hen?

You use "straps". I have seen them made out of canvas and attached with Velcro. I did not like the velcro idea, so I found a nice soft and thin elastic to use.
The elastic goes around the wing. You don't want the strap tight, they need to be loose enough to allow normal non constricting movement, but secure enough that they will not come off.

I think I remember seeing these or something like them before, but these are for............................??

............ Was it to prevent something the roosters do to the hens???  Didn't Nancygoat at one time make a bunch of them, like one was a black leather jacket or something that looked like a biker's outfit????  Like Harley hens or something!!  :lol3:

It does not stop the Roos from mounting the hens. Sometimes a roo will ride a certain hen over and over and that causes the feathers to be worn down and that can cause bleeding to the hens back. The saddle helps to prevent that. If I see that happening here I just catch the hen and separate her till she gets her feathers back.

Yes, it prevents the rooster from ripping all the hens feathers out off of her back.

Debi,  I didn't forget you!!
I will be contacting you shortly to get your address.

I was directed to a vendor today for sales of my saddles. Isn't that great?  I was talking with a lady about how I made them for my own and the whole conversation just led off to sales,....
So it looks like I'll be firing up the machine and will be making a run of them.
