My dear husband has dealt with 2 bouts of colon cancer in 4 years, and now his PSA numbers are climbing. He had a biopsy done last week and we go today to get the results. If this is also cancer, we ask for God's Grace to help us fight this one, too.

It is cancer and we will go back in 10 days for another consultation with the doctor. We were given some material to look at and decide which way we want to go ... surgery, seed implants, or other options that I can't recall right now. Hubby is doing well with the diagnosis. Thankfully, the cancer is slow growing and we have plenty of time to consider all the options available.

Thank you. I will tell him as I know how much he appreciates prayers. We are getting to be pros at dealing with cancer and this one should be easier (from what the doctor told us today) than the two colon cancers we beat.

He's quite positive and just wants to get it done and over with. The doctors won't do anything until 6 weeks after the diagnosis, and that's making him crazy. Guess they want to make sure the patient gets all info to be able to make the right decision on treatment. He's ready now and doesn't want to wait. This is his 3rd bout with cancer in 4-1/2 years so I think we can pretty much decide on what we want by now. I think he's afraid he won't be able to put in his garden if they wait too long.

Positive additudes on both your parts are a great thing.
So sorry this is happening again to him.
My uncle just had a bout with colon cancer and had the radiation , then implanted seeds.
He is doing great and he has a huge Black Angus cattle farm in WV.
he is still doing all the work.

The first two were colon cancers, and this is prostate cancer, all within 4-1/2 years. But, thank you all, his attitude is wonderful with this one and he's biting at the bit to get the surgery done and over with. The one he's decided on is the DiVenci robotic surgery which has dramatically improved the chances of not having the side effects when having the prostate removed, plus pain and recovery time is also dramatically reduced.

We go back to see the doctor this afternoon. DH called yesterday and talked to the nurse and told her that he's not a newbie when it comes to cancer, he's been there twice already and knows exactly what he wants done, he's done his research, and there's no need to wait 6 weeks to have the surgery. We'll see if the doctor agrees.
