Rabbit question
« on: June 16, 2008, 03:12:26 AM »
We have had two neutered male rex rabbits for about 7-8 yrs.  Last week one day,  I noticed that the one seemed kind of lethargic.  The next morning, he was dead.  I don't have a clue as to what happened.  I had no idea he was that sick, or I'd have taken him to the vet that day.  The day prior to the day he appeared lethargic, he was running all around, eating, etc.  I've had Dutch rabbits before, but not these bigger ones.  What is the lifespan for them?  Could it have just been "old age"?  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.  His brother seems fine, eating, drinking, acting normal, but I'm worried about him now since this was so sudden.

Thanks.

Lifespan is 8-15 years I think.
Could have been old age. Do they have a consistant healthy diet?

Yes, they were on the same balanced diet since we got them. So I'm thinking maybe old age too.

Thanks.
