A spitting problem!!!
« on: April 25, 2008, 03:12:44 AM »
Okay anyone that knows about llamas please inform me why my llama I have had for years and have never had a problem with he spitting on me before. Now she decides she is going to start. She knows I am herd boss but today I was so  at her it wasn't even funny. On the norm I feed the goats in the barn shut the gate and walk out and put Morgans food where She eats. Today as normal she was walking beside me to get to her bowl and I went to dump her food and heard her glunking I looked straight at her and her ears were back and she was ready to spit I know more than said you better not spit on me a thats what she did. Boy I tell you what I was beyond mad. She has had an attitude lately and has been Glunking at me for a few days. She spit on me four times the day I shaved her. This is so not her and I am getting alittle concerned about this.

:lmao3: Sorry to laugh but I couldnt help it...Maybe she is cycling and is very hormonal and thats why she did it or maybe she needs a friend...she was used to your sisters being there and maybe she is lonely...just a thought

Feed her first and it should stop, she is exerting her domance over the herd (goats) and by your feeding her last, you are upsetting her pecking order.

'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.' - Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Thats ok kathy. Go ahead and laugh Brittney did. She thought it was so funny I on the other hand I was just beyond upset. What a bad habit that I so do not want her to have. Nic I will try feeding her first. I noticed also lately that she has been going to the bathroom in the barn which is also not normal for her. You may be right and she is marking the barn to say it is hers.  pullhair Kathy and Debi Llamas do not go into heat like goats. They are always ready and drop and egg to be fertlized when a male mounts them they can be bred all year long everyday. This is why I do not have a male.  :hehe:   Thank you for the info.
