My friend was shot early this morning. Her parents have been divorced for a year, & her mom had a restraining order against her dad, but her mom let him come around sometimes. Her mom just started seeing someone last weekend & that is when threats started coming in from him. Last night/early this morning her mom was on a date, & my friend was coming in from working late & having to close. Her dad parked off & hide in the house(no one knows how he got in) & was waiting for Cami's mom to come in & either mean't to or accidentally shot Cami. She must of tried to duck b/c the bullet went in from the top/side of her head down to her nose. The bullet busted into pieces so they can't get it all out & she keeps bleeding from her nose. The dad called my friend's sister & said "I just shot Cami. I called 911" the he hung up & left. Her sister flew over there(has a toddler & she is pregnant) & Cami was able to sit up & she knew who she was. By the time they got her to the hospital, the pressure in her head was 60(normal is 10). At last update, it was 24. Cami is unconsious. They say her chances are slim to none, & IF she makes it, she will have SEVERE brain damage. My friend's mom is hysterical because she knows the bullet was intended for her & she was out gallyvanting around. The sister has passed out twice(not good being pregnant) & hit her head once. The family has been through so much other stuff & now this. Please pray Cami makes it through the night. I feel so guilty. We had lost touch for the past year or two, but at one time we were close friends. I have been meaning to show her Whitney, because we both love being aunts. I will keep you guys posted. BTW, the dad is in custody now. The bad thing is, this happened on my street. Then yesterday I was 15ft from police chasing two men at gunpoint. I am sooo shookup.

OHHHHH..I am so sorry...what a horrible thing!...i can't believe the father did that and then LEFT HER THERE!!!!!!!....that whole family will be in my prayers!!!!!...Things like that make no sense!!!!!

Hang in there Lauren...we are all here for you and you can bet we will pray for your friend and for you too...We are family here and when in need we are there for each other...Just take a deep breathe and relax a bit...its all up to God now to decide what is meant to be...She is a strong girl and sounds like a fighter if she has made it this long...God will hear our Prayers! He is the 1 that knows...Hang in there we are here for you...

Thanks Meshale & Cathy. This is senseless. Believe it or not, this isn't the first time this has happened with the family. The first time the parents were fighting & my friend's grandpa(mom's dad) came over with his shot gun & chased her dad up the road & eventually shot him in the arm. I can't believe it had to come to THIS for him to be put behind bars. I will not be able to sleep tonight. I keep seeing images of Cami in my mind. The feeling of being shot. Know it was her dad. I hear her laugh. We even played softball together when we were younger & her mom was our coach. I just. I feel so darn guilty.

No reason for you to feel guilty there is nothing you can do when someone has those kind of intentions!......Was she shot in the back of the head?....

I feel guilty for letting our friendship fall to the way side. It was really in the top right side. Because it stopped right before it went out through her nose.

What a terrible thing to happen to your friend, Lauren, but think about this for a moment................................what happened would've happened even if you two were still the best of buddies & had just seen each other last night. PLEASE try not to feel guilty - Cami probably sensed that you still care deeply as her friend, but sometimes life gets in the way.

I know that God can make miracles, if they are in His plans. He hears our prayers, so he'll hear lots of them coming from us here.

Lauren, there is no need for you or her mom to feel guilty . Her DAD IS THE GUILTY ONE !!!
You just keep your prayers and good thoughts going out to Cami .

OH Lauren PLEASE PLEASE do not feel guilty yourself, as there is nothing you could have done except maybe have been over there with her and gotten a bullet too. It is a horrific thing to have happened and am praying all goes well with Cami. Prayers are powerful and hopefully she will pull thru. Keep your spirits up and be there for her as a friend now when she needs you most. If she does make it and is severely damaged, she will need all the friends she can get. This also will help her mom thru this time of need.

HE TRIED TO KILL CAMI! I know if it would have been her mom, there wouldn't have just been on shot fired.

In the middle of the night she had another bad blot clot. They rushed her into surgery & during surgery her pressure when back up to 58. It is dropping slowly, but still in a dangerous number. Her mom is hysterical. Didn't sleep a wink, & has barely eaten anything.

Well, we will take what we can get. Today she is still in a coma, but the pressure in her head is 11(normal is 10)

which could trigger her to start functioning again. Another one of our friend's(Cami & I) dad is restoring their mailbox. Cami's dad somehow destroyed it. It sent chills up my spine to see that. Just an eerie setting around here. Her mom still hasn't left the hospital, but I can't blame her. I have thought about going to see her, but there are alot of people already going & the doctors & nurses are in the room all the time. I just don't want to remember Cami(if something happens) this way. I want to remember her as the funny,talkitive,caring,happy person that she was/is. If I know her mom, she doesn't like all these people around.

Sometimes it helps to go see them and talk to them as they say they can hear us talking to them...You need to go talk to Cami and tell her you still care for her as a friend...Who knows it just might wake her up and help her...
Stranger things have been known to happen, maybe she is waiting for you ...and I know her mom would appreciate your visit too...she is probably needing someone better than the other people there. It will help you not to feel guilty about this as you have no reason to feel that way as you didnt cause this HE DID! You didnt pull the trigger and yes they will change the carges on him soon, you just wait and see...
HE probably will be charged for breaking and entering and attemted murder...it is a charge and it will stick also...If by some reason something happens to Cami it will be premeditated murder charges then..and maybe they will do that anyway as he thought about it and then carried it out ...you never know what they are talking about at the courthouse they just tell you what they want you to hear and charges can change too...right now its still new and they have him in custody and probably without bail as they are still trying to decide what to really charge him with...Relax and just go see her..she will appreciate it and so will you as you know you have done your best to mend the bridge between you two...GOd Loves YOU and We DO TOO.....

I agree fully!! If you don't go up and see her you will always kick yourself for not going. Doesn't matter if she is n a coma or not she needs to hear your voice. Just telling her to get better. Also her mom needs to know you care. You will feel better , mark my words.
Prayers are going out to help you thru this as it is hard but oh how wonderful you will feel afterwards. REMEMBER you are not alone when walking into that room WE are all there with you and GOD is with you ALWAYS>

I am seriously thinking about going to see her. We are doing some stuff to our house & right now we are living in our camper. Here is the most recent news on Cami. They did a cat scan & her brain damage is not nearly as bad as they thought. They tested her hearing & she can hear very well. They were putting medicine in her eyes & she blinked. Her mom said that while she was holding her hand, she swears Cami squeezed it. They are trying to wean her off the meds so that she will wake up. They have had her heavily sedated. As for her dad, he was able to watch news in jail & anyone he saw talking to the news about this, he has created a hit list. Cami's mom #1, his OWN mother #2 & he even told her he was going to kill her when he talked to her. FREAK OF NATURE if you ask me.

Lauren if youare thinking about you really want to go. go see her and hold her hand and talk about the fun stuff you used to do and would like to do again. maybe you can help her wake up.
Her mom would most likly be happy to see you too !!!

Thanks for the update. As far as her father is concerned, my guess is he will rot in jail, his continued threats can be construed as terrorist threats IF he makes them about a law enforcement officer, and given his blabber mouth, I'll bet he gets around to that in short order. Once they have him on attempted murder/great bodily harm, breaking and entering, etc, he will face more charges on just about anything they can dream up. He is not so much a freak of nature in my book, as he is filled with rage-a product of his upbringing/mental illness.

Oh too heck with it, all that fluff, the guy is evil, filled with evil, and I think his fellow inmates should take care of him sooner rather than later. There I said it-not politically correct, but it is the way I feel about scum bags like this. Mental illness that turns violent, should be on the books for the death sentence in my opinion-there's no cure, and no reason to think we can save them.

I agree also ...So many people want to be so PC it is sickening and I think we need to go back to the way it used to be...So many claim it was temporary insanity...psshawww its just down right meaness and they are getting away with it...I speak my mind as some of ya'll know...I am to the age where I say what some dont want to hear but thats my opinion...He should get the death penalty for this and what his big mouth is saying...yes its terroristic threats if we were to say it and believe me I would not only be put in jail but under it...Well they just let to many get away with things so everyone will politacally correct...who thought of those words...apparently someone that stayed in TROUBLE and then finally grew up...I can remember when if you messed up you paid for it...he should PAY BIG TIME>>>Go see her Lauren you will feel better and so will she ...she probably misses you as much as you miss her...Like Sondra said We will all be with you when you go and so will GOD...
