Please Pray for my Father In Law
« on: April 28, 2007, 02:59:04 AM »
Just got a call tonite that they put my Father in Law in the hospital...he has gotten bad since Randy left and is in great pain. They had to admit him and from what the Doctors are saying he might not come out of there...Randy is so distraught over this as he is here in Kansas and they are in Texas...He is a Great man and will do anything for you adn this is just killing me because I love this Old Goat so much ...Thas his nickname from me to him and I have always been the Dumb Blonde for 25 almost 26 yrs ...He has always been there for me and Randy when we need them and sometimes when we didnt even ask...I know he has made peace with God and he didnt say anything to Randy this time like last year when he left. I know he is tried of hurting and I am sure he is ready but I am not ready for him to leave just yet but I can deal with it if it comes to that...I know he will finally meet my parents and my brother when he gets to heaven...Thanks for being there for me to talk to...Ya'll are Great...  :hug2_202: Please keep him in your Prayers...

I'm glad he is not feeling  pain.  That's a blessing.

Yes, it is weird that they would just now be starting Chemo.  When was he diagnosed?

Chemo in end stage cancer can sometimes reduce the symptoms. If he has stage 4 cancer, it normally won't cure it, just make him feel better-unless he reacts to the chemo.

Its very advanced and its in his ribs now and up his spine to where he cant sit too long and get comfortable...He got his first treatment Tuesday and he said it hasnt made him sick yet but Randy hasnt talked ot him today to see how he is doing...I wish they had started it along time ago...he was diagnosed almost 2 yrs ago with this and they said at the time is was slow but agressive type...I still dont understand that at all if its slow its slow but then agressive is what it is , still puzzling ....I only hope they can control the pain and so far it is...Thanks again

It grows slowly, but spreads throughout the body, is what I think they were trying to tell him. Some cancers grow slowly and stay localized for years and years, others hit the blood stream and it is Katie bar the door, as they attack multiple sites.

Apparently he has had this for a while and then he finally went to get it checked and they said basically it was to late for surgery and then didnt offer any kind of treatment but some kind of pills and estrogen to slow it down, but it didnt work to well and it has spread alot since they found it.
And now they have started the Cehmo and I still dont understand why they didnt start it sooner if its supposed to help,....

Maybe it only helps for a little while and they want to make the time he has left more comfortable. I am totally guessing here .
Good thoughts being sent to your whole family, this is soo hard on all.  :hug2_202:

Am praying he got to go home today.  We had a friend that said the chemo was worse than the cancer so I know just what your f-n-l is thinking right now.  Hopefully they will just reduce his pain and let him go home.
