They started popping around in the incubator last night. So far we have six new ones.

And there is two that are all blonde???

Yep last nite she said that there were 5 that had hatched and then I guess you hatched 1 more....yep she is keeping the blonde 1's....

how are the little quail??? i've thought about raising some, but don't know a whole lot about them.. do you have to have a license to raise them???

Hey I can get some pics of the little guys Sean was a little upset about this hatch only 8 hatched out 120 eggs and two of them didn't make it ,got them off ebay.

So I can at least post pics of the 6 little runts.

Okay heres some pictures. The one in my hand is Gommer he is such a sweet little guy not growing like the others and is blind I hope he makes it. He has no problems finding the water and I spread feed around for him to find. We are not releasing him him and a buddy will be here for the duration.

Nic I have no clue if you can give him vit B or not. Now that I think about it they do make vit you can give to your birds in their water I will have to get some and try alittle in the water. It would be nice if I could do something more for him. He was the last to hatch and it took him about 3 days to walk right I would pick him up and take him to the water then spread the food all around him I know that most people would of just let nature take care of him but I just couldn't let him suffer. He is so funny if I pick him up and he is not in the mood to be touched he pecks at me.

They are as big as a quarter if even that when they come out of the egg so tiny.

Deanna they sell poultry nutri drench at Tractor supply I saw it today and cheap too. that may give him a boost

You might try just a bit of the Nutridrench/vitamin b complex, if it is a vitamin deficiency it could clear up in short order.

i don't know why but 9 times out of 10 if something is wrong with a chick they eventually die.. we have tried to medicate sick ones in the past and never had any luck to speak of. it's kinda strange, they seem to do better if you just give them some sugar water if they are sick and let them go.. however, usually if they are ill at hatch they just don't make it... i am no expert! but have hatched alot of chickens.. it certainly can't hurt to try!
