Rabbits are smart!!!
« on: September 18, 2006, 12:53:26 PM »
Well, never having any until now, I never knew how smart they were, but after watching them, they truly do have smarts and personality.
They are all learning how to manipulate me!!! :icon_eek:
In the morning  I feed the goats first, and those rabbits do NOT appreciate that!! Back and forth in their cages until I come to feed them!!
Little fudge lets me know when he wants water by picking his bowl up with his teeth when he sees me coming by.
Little Tootie lets me know when she is having PMS by lunging at my hands when I open the cage. We have a little rattle phone hanging in her cage now so she can 'bat' at it when she is feeling 'evil'.
Little Piggie just is a happy little boy. He runs back and forth when I'm in the barn even after he eats, it's his 'Look at me mom, I'm happy" dance.  Ithink he thinks  Imay let him run on his harness liek Henry does. Little fudge does this too, only he has a thing for playing with his toys for a long time and rearranging them in his cage,,..I think he just likes to play.
Miss Blackberry is still very timid, so we're waiting to see her personality, but so far we have figured out she LOVES her hay. She eats every single piece of it. The rest kind a scatter it and pick at it.
Miss Molly Lou was an inside pet, and it shows, she just likes to lay around and when I open her cage she stays laying for me to pet her. I'm guessing there is more to her and we'll be finding that out shortly!!!

Yep they do have personalities that is for sure.  and most all of them love to rearrange furniture so to speak.  The one rabbit I have left has never liked to be petted but boy does he ever let you know that his bowl is empty of food  or he doesn't like it.  He will turn the big heavy crock bowl completly upside down.  Now if there is alfalfa pellets  in it even one or two he leaves it alone but let there be a few oats left over it goes and emptied.
