I thought it might be fun to find the strangest (only a mother could love) exotic pet owned by our members. Anyone have a sweet baby that might fit this bill?

I only have Cats, Goats, Chickens, Rabbits, and Gerbils. Nothing exotic.

ummm we have a rat that comes to eat with our chooks and ducks does that count? although I havn't seen him for a while, they don't seem to mind, he would get right in the thick of it.

Common name: (My D.h.)
Habits: Eats, Sleeps, Hard worker, Adapts to many types of living, very rarely growels, gentle, loves scratches, considerate of other species around him.
Recomended for: those that love attention, like to be listened to, will take charge of "the herd".

heh heh, yes he's a rare species, I discovered him when I was 17 yrs old. Lost him somewhere in the wild world at 18 and found him again at Mc Donalds in a car park at the age of 29. He's one of a kind. God Bless him.

Well I cant top any of that,

but we do have two tarantulas

I never thought I would evolve to the point where I would want anything that creepy looking at my house, but they are actually quite calm and easy to keep, and fun to watch. We have two in a large aquraium and they must be boy and girl, cause they get along very well.

Thanks I'll pass Hubby might see them. You know years ago he worked in Mexico and Peru. and one night he just woke up and had this weird feeling. Turn on the light next to the bed and there was a BIG tarantula hanging down from the cealing right above his head. Now for nearly 30 years all lights are left on here all night long. So NO no pics either.

Okey-Dokey... I'll keep them to myself, by popular demand.... How ever I dont think that a real tarantula could dangle from a thread of web as these kind are just too heavy for that, these guys just crawl around, and sometimes burrow...

That sounds like a big bad spider,

and I have seen a few of those around here too..(although not hanging from a thread of web like that)

I hate those,... and make my husband kill them when they are that big.

We get big hairy wolf spiders around here and they freak me out. I think that they look at you and run at you just to scare ya. DH thinks I'm a nut case (loveable nutcase ) but I stomp them just the same (only the ones in the house)

We have a little (harmless) box turtle. Every summer I say I'm gonna turn her loose but, I never get around to it.

I have a turtle too, mine is a Painted Turtle. A girl I work with caught it when it was just little for her son

then when it got bigger didn't want it, so I got him. I wish I could return him to the wild, but I read with aquatic turtles anyway, you should not release once they have been in captivity for some time becuz of bacteria issues and wild populations might not accept a new turtle. Mine will not eat anything but his turtle sticks, I guess if he got hungry enough he would, but I would worry. Mine is a nasty little bugger! He hisses at me, but has never bit me yet. He has been here about 3 yrs, so I'm kinda attached to the little guy.

i have 6 little baby turtles

and they are so cute

the biggest one is like 2 inc.'s long

are's eat all kinds of things,lettuce,corrits, they love hamberger not cooked,the little sticks for them,crickets,peas,ect...

and we named them all here are the names

Dr.pepper the biggest one

squirtles next biggest one

Franklin the smallest one

sierra

Dr bob

and little mist
thats them all

Well for exotic pets. I have one painted turtle and two cat fish(my husband brought home from fishing) don't know why. Plus I have one albino frog. He is my favorite. The turtle is the hubby's. but i take care of all of them.....
