Please pray for my grandson and me, we are both sick. It has been over two weeks now, and all our efforts have only made a dent in this, so I am giving it to the Lord, and asking for your help. Thanks everyone.

:prayer: Prayers from Michigan for you and g.son to be up and feeling better. How about some homemade chicken soup ??? For a cold, if you flood your body with onion soup, the cold virus will not stay around very long. My holistic dentist told me that a while back. The oil from the onion promotes the virus to wash through before it gets a good foothold on the blood cells.

I love onion soup, so will give that a try, what a wonderful idea. Thank you. Can I use Lipton, or do I have to make it from scratch?

Nic, so sorry to hear you are sick. If you want an easy and delicious onion soup recipe....

Take 1 Vidalia onion (you could use a white one, but the Vidalia is the best), peel, cut ends off and set upright in a piece of aluminum foil. Cut in quarter's about halfway down, just slitting it. Place a tablespoon of butter in the slits and a beef bullion cube on top. Wrap the onion tightly in the foil and place in a 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes to an hour or until the onion is soft.

Talk about delicish and easy to boot! I wish you were closer. I have some homemade chicken soup in the freezer.

I would recommend from scratch to get as much onion oil as you can from a fresh onion. Lipton probably has more spices, bouillon, and onion flakes as flavoring than actual onion oil.

Cathy's baked onion recipe sounds delicious too. I choose Vidalia's when I can as well, find them to be just a touch sweeter than other whites. The purple ones I usually save for burgers on the grill.

The Vidalia is a sweet onion grown here in Georgia. It actually has more sugar in it than an orange.

No, you don't have to. You can use a yellow or white one. It is just tastier with the Vidalia!

There is no way on God's green earth you are going to get better if you keep taking on other peoples goats, birthing other peoples goats and trying to raise your own. When was the last time YOU were at a goat show???????? Yep, I'm giving you a lecture back, out of all the times you told me to rest when I was sick, now I'm throwing it back at you.

I truly am sorry you have been so sick, but damn girl, you need to rest to get better!!! (sound familuar???)

Thanks Nancy, but resting is all I think I do lately. Go to the market, whoops have to find a place to sit down, do dishes, well yes but it takes hours to finish between all the rests I take. Girl, I think I rest better than you do when you're sick!
