You all are so very wonderful. I thought Nic would have posted my update for me, but I guess she was busy her own self today.
Well, last night Maria went through a battery of tests, her liver toxins were through the roof. They did all sorts of treatments and her levels wouldn't go down. They even did a spinal tap on her this morning to rule out Menengitis (sp?). (this isn't the greatest hospital, but in this area, there isn't much to choose from in an emergency situation). She finally got transferred to Children's Hospital at 3pm today and the doctor there ran one test and found out she merely has a virus. They will be keeping her there for a week to ten days to make sure they kick the virus out of her system, but after only a couple of hours, her toxin levels are going down slowly. She's still really dehydrated, but they have had here on an IV since last night, she's getting there. Dan drove down to see her after work this evening and said just in the time that he was there, she was already looking better.
Angela is completely exhausted, but hopefully tonight she will get a little more sleep. The hospital will only let one parent spend the night with the child, so Dallas came home to spend some much needed quality time with Little D.
Thank you all so very much, from the bottom of my heart, for all of your prayers. They worked, yet again.
I have only got to hold Baby Maria once since she's been born, but I tell ya, in those brief moments, she stole my heart. I don't know what any of us would have done if this ended up being worse. So, thank you, again, all of you!
